On 21st September 2020 from 11:00 pm to 12:00 pm, the farewell meeting which was organized by Dr. Muhammad Sarfraz (PhD) and Dr. Attia Afzal (PhD), the first two post doc graduates of the School of Basic Medical Sciences Henan University took place in the conference room of the sixth floor of the Key laboratory of plant stress biology building and was attended by about 30 teachers and students from different laboratories. The two Pakistani graduates joined the department in September, 2018 and since then, have participated in cancer researches, collected numerous data, published two articles in SCI journals, got 2 provincial and 2 university postdoc start-up funding with a totally 330,000 Yuan. They also helped to guide junior students on different academic matters including research methodologies and review writing. In the meeting, the post doc graduates thanked the University management, teachers and fellow students for their cooperation and support during their two years’ tenure at Henan University.
On behalf of the School and teachers, Prof. Xin-Ying Ji (MD, PhD), the vice dean of the Henan University College of Medicine also thanked the graduates for their hard work and determination that were key for their success, and wished them the best in their future plans. He also promised to continue working with them in different joint programs that will be carried out by the Chinese and Pakistan universities.
Also as the head of PCNP research group Professor Xin-Ying Ji further stated that, “These two were the first post -doc members in my group and I had a great experience with them. They invest their time for the betterment and productivity of my group. I am glad to have them in my group and later on in future, we have planned long-term research collaboration with their parent institute and Henan University. All membered went in front of laboratory gate and take a group photo to save the memories.
The meeting ended with a delicious food, soft drinks and smiles from all the attendees. It was truly a happy day worth to be remembered.
